Sometimes your favorite show is lucky to have multiple seasons, and sometimes they get canceled prematurely or come to a natural end. Shows canceled prematurely can cite network issues, poor ratings, or low viewership. Other times, show creators would rather end the story before it gets too dry, much to fans' disappointment.
